For rooms without windows or ventilation, there is an option of a “vented skylight”, which in a standard application would require perforated metal vents under the shoulder of dome.

For extra ventilation the architect may recommend a “fan fitted skylight”. Very popular in commercial premises.

Upon having your roofer flash the skylight to roof, have the electrician hard wire the fan into roof cavity.
